Pete Hartigan is a Managing Partner for the Marketplace Funds in partnership with Dr. Andy Sekel. Pete’s expertise is venture capital & financial services. Prior, Pete joined the initial team at SoFi (Social Finance, Inc), and served as its original VP of Sales and Chief Community Officer (2011 – 2013). Pete also served as a SOFI Board Observer (2011 – 2017). SOFI has grown from $0 to $4.3 billion in market value over the past 6 years, serving over 350,000 members & $20 billion of loans funded to date. Pete has been a founder for several startups, and worked at three venture capital firms in Boston and Silicon Valley, including Battery Ventures, SOFTBANK and Diamondhead. He consulted for several Fortune 100 companies (Unitedhealth, IBM & Matsushita / Panasonic).
Pete has an MBA from Stanford University (Arbuckle Award) and earned degrees in Psychology & Philosophy from Duke University, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa & USA Today First Team Top 20 Students in the US (1993). Pete earned FINRA Series 7, 62 and 63 licenses.
